Your puppy’s first visit to the veterinarian lays the cornerstone for a lifetime of good health. The doctor will want to know all about him - his name, age, and breed, where you got him, and any previous medical history he might have.

With gentle hands and a soothing voice, the doctor will give your little pal a thorough physical exam, head to tail, and the first in a series of vaccinations, if he hasn’t had them already. Most likely he’ll get a dewormer, also, as most puppies have roundworms at birth. The doctor will ask what he’s eating, how he’s adjusting to his new home, and answer any questions you might have.

Puppy might get a biscuit as you schedule a follow-up visit, and then the two of you will be out the door and headed for home.
